Privacy Policy
Last updated: 29 July 2026
Cyber Technician uses Google Sign-In to identify participants. YouTube read-only access is optional and is used only for YouTube-related campaign verification, such as checking subscription status. We do not use this permission to modify your YouTube account and we do not sell personal information.
1. Who we are
Cyber Technician operates a technology-content, giveaway and knowledge-challenge platform at thecybertechnician.com. The platform allows visitors to browse giveaway campaigns and allows eligible signed-in participants to complete campaign tasks, take video knowledge quizzes and receive verified campaign entries.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the platform, we may collect:
- Google account identifier, name, email address and profile image supplied through Google Sign-In.
- YouTube account authorization data and read-only subscription verification results when you voluntarily connect YouTube.
- Discord or Telegram identifiers and encrypted OAuth tokens when you voluntarily connect those accounts for task verification.
- Phone number, messaging consent, notification preferences and browser push-subscription keys when you enable those services.
- Campaign participation, terms acceptance, task completion, referral and entry-ledger records.
- Task screenshots, extracted text, evidence hashes, AI/OCR confidence and tampering-risk signals when screenshot verification is used.
- Video knowledge-quiz attempts, answers, scores, XP and unique watch-progress checkpoints.
- Basic security and anti-fraud signals, such as IP-derived information, browser/user-agent information and timestamps.
- Information submitted through collaboration, support or newsletter forms.
3. Google and YouTube API data
Google Sign-In is used to authenticate participants and associate campaign records with one account. If you separately choose to connect YouTube, Cyber Technician requests the read-only scope needed to check YouTube-related campaign eligibility, including whether the connected YouTube account is subscribed to the Cyber Technician channel.
The requested YouTube permission is read-only. Cyber Technician cannot use it to upload or delete videos, post or delete comments, like videos, manage playlists or otherwise modify your YouTube account.
Cyber Technician’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
4. How we use information
- To create, secure and maintain participant accounts.
- To administer campaigns, verify eligibility and calculate campaign entries.
- To verify YouTube subscription tasks when the user has granted read-only access.
- To verify eligible Discord, Telegram or WhatsApp campaign actions after the user connects or interacts with the relevant service.
- To analyze voluntarily submitted screenshots using the configured AI/OCR provider and route uncertain evidence to human review.
- To deliver consented website, email, SMS, WhatsApp or Web Push notifications and record delivery receipts.
- To operate video knowledge quizzes and award campaign entries or loyalty XP.
- To prevent duplicate entries, automated abuse, manipulation and fraud.
- To contact provisional winners and complete prize verification or fulfilment.
- To respond to collaboration, newsletter and support requests.
5. Legal basis and consent
Google and YouTube access is requested only after you choose to sign in or connect YouTube. You may decline YouTube authorization; however, YouTube-specific campaign tasks cannot be automatically verified without it. Campaign participation may also require acceptance of campaign-specific official rules.
6. Sharing and sale of information
We do not sell personal information. Data may be shared only with hosting, security, communication, AI/OCR or prize-fulfilment service providers when reasonably necessary to operate the platform, verify a submitted task, deliver a requested alert, fulfil a prize, comply with law, investigate abuse or protect users and the platform. Each provider receives only the data needed for that operation.
7. Storage and security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards. OAuth tokens, where retained, are stored server-side and should be encrypted. No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security, but access is limited to legitimate operational needs.
8. Data retention
We retain account and campaign records only as long as reasonably necessary for platform operation, winner verification, fraud prevention, legal obligations, accounting, dispute resolution and audit integrity. Screenshot evidence is scheduled for automatic deletion after the configured evidence-retention period (30 days by default), while non-image audit results or hashes may be retained to prevent repeat fraud. Some immutable campaign-entry or winner-draw records may be retained to preserve transparency and legal compliance.
9. Disconnecting and revoking access
You may disconnect YouTube, Discord or Telegram through your Cyber Technician dashboard. You may also revoke access from the relevant provider’s account settings and disable notification channels from the Notification Center. Revocation stops future authorized API access but may not automatically delete historical campaign records that must be retained for legitimate audit or legal purposes.
10. Access, correction and deletion requests
To request access, correction or deletion of personal data, email swati@cybertechnician.media or follow our data deletion instructions.
11. Public winner information
After a campaign result, limited winner information such as a display name, prize category and winning ticket reference may be published for transparency. Full email addresses, phone numbers and identity documents are not publicly displayed.
12. Children
Campaigns are generally intended for adults aged 18 or older unless the official rules of a specific campaign clearly state otherwise. We do not knowingly request Google or YouTube data from children in violation of applicable law.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when legal requirements, Google API requirements or platform functionality change. The current version and its effective date will remain publicly available at this URL.
